What a fun show! This is a new song called, “Ugly,” performed live at Moroccan Lounge in L.A. The band features my sister, Justine Brown on drums, Priscilla Perry on keys, Ian Waters on guitar, and Seamus Blackwell on bass.
I shared the raw acoustic version of this song with my Dream Team, shortly after I wrote it. I’m excited to be recording it soon! Until then…

My new single, “Bittersweet Relief” is out today! The music video was shot on Super 8 film and directed/edited by the talented Rocio Mesa.
“Bittersweet Relief” was written during a moment of peace and contentment. After experiencing deep heartache and struggling to make ends meet, I had finally reached a place of happiness. I was content being alone, and I was learning to be independent, support myself, and love myself.
This song is a reflection on the growing pains and rock bottoms of this necessary path. Even the good times can hurt, and the journey continues.
I recorded this one earlier this year at the studio of Kosta Galanopoulos, who also played drums. With Marcus Buser on bass and rhythm guitar, and myself on lead guitar, we all co-produced and tracked the song in one day. Marcus and I sang the backup vocals together.

I’m so excited to share some new music with you all! It’s been a while since my last release.
This song is about when your heart feels one way, but your mind begins to question. It feels right in your body, but worries and fears creep in. It’s confusing and wonderful, and scary all at once.
It’s a breakthrough moment in which you realize that you’re the one holding yourself back - that love is just there waiting for you with open arms. All you have to do is open the door.
I wrote this song in a moment of clarity, while strumming on my guitar. I brought it to the studio of Kosta Galanopoulos, who laid down the drum groove, along with Marcus Buser on bass. I added my guitar solos and textures, and Priscilla Perry sprinkled in some piano and back up vocals (with Marcus in harmony). I experienced some studio magic moments working with Kosta and Marcus as my co-producers, like a car alarm that went off in perfect timing with the song, and inspired one of the piano arrangements. We recorded the song in one day, partially on reel-to-reel tape. The warm analog sound perfectly captures the groove and sultriness of this tune. It was mastered by Evan Mui at Weather Vane Sound. The video footage is by Maciek Jasik, edited by me.

Here’s a video of “My Old Friend” from my last show at Gold Diggers in Los Angeles. This was such a fun night and looking back on it is getting me excited for my upcoming shows!
